"Definitely Not Worth the Money"
I gave this product a shot before and didn’t find it helpful for editing my manuscript. Later, when I started a fresh project, I figured I’d try again, lured in by all the hype about improvements. Honestly, the AI here just can’t compete with what you get from paid Google Gemini—pretty much falls short in every area. The so-called story Bible tool is also a letdown compared to Scrivener, and you end up having to do a ton of manual work just to get anything decent out of it. For what they charge, it’s just not justified, and don’t expect to get your money back either. Save yourself the trouble—grab a Google One plan and a proper story bible app instead.

"Strange Experience with This Shopping App"
Updating my review because when I registered through a referral link promising a million credits, I didn’t realize I’d only received 10,000—the standard trial amount. Guess I can’t count all those zeroes! Eventually, I did get enough credits to try out more features, and it looks like the credits last a decent while. Still, I’m not blown away. The AI isn’t particularly impressive, and the feedback tool only checks one scene at a time. Unless I copy-paste every scene into a single file, the feedback keeps asking about characters or claims the story just stops (well, yeah, it’s just a scene). Most of the suggestions it gives are actually less helpful than what I’d write myself, which is saying something. There’s a lot of unnecessary words, repetition, and over-the-top language. The user-created plugins help a bit—they’re hit or miss, but sometimes you get something useful out of them. Using several plugins and comparing their advice seems to be the way to go. I’d really appreciate a desktop version and a simpler method to get feedback on an entire manuscript, if that’s even possible.

"Sudowrite: A Fitting Name for a Frustrating Experience"
I first joined Sudowrite more than two years back. At the start, there were a few bugs, but they compensated with extra word credits (back then, everything was measured in words). Later, they changed things up and moved to a credit-based system.
After that switch, the platform became unreliable. For example, I’d try to generate beats, and although it claimed to have done so and deducted credits, nothing would actually appear.
I reached out to their support team multiple times, even attaching screenshots, but most of my messages went unanswered. On two occasions, someone replied saying they checked and everything was working, but that wasn’t my experience.
Over the course of two years, I spent more than $200 on subscriptions, plus another $50 or so on extra credits (over a million of them), so I’m out nearly $300.
After the initial trial, I never managed to get any meaningful writing done on their platform. I tried switching browsers and computers, but my account was always messed up, no matter what I did.
When I told them I wouldn’t renew unless they fixed these issues, they said I could still use my remaining credits to write, but some advanced features would be off-limits (that’s my wording, not theirs).
That turned out to be false. When I attempted to use my credits, I got a message saying I couldn’t write anything at all without an active subscription, including using the credits I’d already paid for.
I even tried their AI chat support, which just told me refunds weren’t an option. So, in the end, I lost almost $300 and wasted two years for nothing.
Their promise to make writing enjoyable again? Not even close. Using Sudowrite was a stressful, disappointing, and costly ordeal.
The idea behind the service was appealing, and at first, it looked like it might deliver. But in practice, it turned out to be a total dystopian mess.

"Does the Job, Entertaining but Dull Writing"
The app functions as expected, is affordable, and can be enjoyable to mess around with. However, the quality of the generated text leaves a lot to be desired. I tried uploading a draft from my current novel project just to see if it would help me brainstorm some new dialogue, but what came out was just uninspired and full of clichés. Honestly, it’s more of a lesson in what to avoid when writing. On the plus side, I appreciate how it organizes chapters, world-building details, and character info. If this kind of organizational feature could be combined with something like Scrivener, that would be a dream come true.

"Solid App, Lousy Service"
The app itself works well, but honestly, it’s overpriced for what you get. I paid for a single month in October just to give it a shot. I made sure to cancel that same month, but they still attempted to bill me for both November and December. Good thing I used a backup payment method that I can control separately—gotta be careful with companies pulling stunts like this.
According to their site, my subscription should be over by December 16. I’ll let y’all know if they try to sneak in another charge.
Update: Less than an hour after posting this, they hit me with another charge attempt on the very same day. Wild.

"Awesome App, but customer service needs work."
This app is pretty cool, but honestly, it’s a bit pricey for what you get. I gave it a shot for a month in October. I also went ahead and cancelled my account that same month, yet they still attempted to bill me for November and December. Thankfully, I had the foresight to use a different account that I can manage on my own when trying out these kinds of services, especially with companies that can be a bit shady.
It mentions that my account will wrap up on December 16, so I’ll keep you posted if they pull another charge on me.
Edit: Just an hour after I shared this, they went ahead and tried to charge me again on the same day.

"The Story Bible is a real mess..."
The Story Bible is such a tangled mess that using it feels almost impossible. All it seems to do is waste credits. From what I can tell, that's pretty much its only function.

"Robbed Blind"
Total rip-off! I upgraded to Pro, barely touched it, and by month’s end, all my credits vanished. Decided to stick around, but the next month, same story. Lost 2 million credits—just gone. Feels like they straight up took my stuff.

"This Story Bible is Just Way Too Complicated"
Trying to use this Story Bible is a real headache—it’s so tangled up that making sense of it is almost out of the question. All it really seems to do is eat up your credits, and honestly, that’s about the only thing it’s good for from what I can tell.
"Wish I Could Rate Zero Stars"
Honestly, I'd give this zero stars if that was an option. Tried to stop my subscription, but never got any confirmation, and they still charged me when it renewed. Sent several emails about the charge—no reply at all. On top of that, you can't even remove your payment info from their website, so I ended up having to cancel my card just to make sure they couldn't take more money whenever they felt like it. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this mess.

"Robbers"
Robbers! I got the Pro subscription. Didn't really use it a lot. At the end of the month, all my credits were gone. Stuck around. The same thing went down the following month. Lost 2 million credits.

"I wish I could rate it zero stars"
I wish I could rate it zero stars. I attempted to cancel my subscription, but they didn’t send any confirmation and still charged me when it was time to renew. They ignore several emails I sent about the charge. To top it off, they won’t let you remove your card info from their website, so I had to cancel my card to prevent them from charging me again whenever they feel like it! Seriously, just steer clear of this scam.

"Unclear Ownership and Vague Policies—Who Really Controls Your Creations?"
I've reached out to this website multiple times, asking if their AI qualifies as Artificial General Intelligence and whether our submissions are used to train or enhance their system. Still waiting on a response, by the way.
As someone who creates, I want assurance that my content remains mine, even if I'm just using this platform to tweak or polish work I've already finished. The Terms and Conditions are, honestly, pretty murky, and the lack of answers to direct questions about intellectual property is unsettling. Anyone would be wary in this situation. Their agreement includes the following:
"This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by the Operator or third parties, and all rights, titles, and interests in and to such property will remain (as between the parties) solely with the Operator."
But nowhere do they spell out what exactly counts as their intellectual property. If I'm uploading my own material, it shouldn't suddenly become theirs just because I used their tools to edit or improve it. The terms don't make this distinction clear at all.
Even though I only use the service for stuff I've already made, I think Sudowrite's policies are even more concerning if you're creating new content directly on their platform. Why can't they just say outright that the end product belongs to the user? Whether you're revising with Sudowrite's assistance or paying for the service, the final work should be yours—after all, you're the one putting in the effort. So why not just state this plainly in the Terms and Conditions?
Sudowrite seems to monitor Trustpilot for feedback to make improvements, but, as usual, they don't actually respond to their users. That says a lot about how much they value building trust with their customer base.

"Unclear Terms - Who Really Owns Your Creations?"
I've reached out to this site multiple times to find out if their AI qualifies as Artificial General Intelligence and whether our contributions are used to enhance its capabilities. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any answers.
As a creator, it's crucial for me to know that my work remains mine, even if I'm just using this platform to refine my already completed projects. Their Terms and Conditions are, at best, confusing and unclear, and the lack of response to my inquiries about important intellectual property issues is unsettling. It raises red flags for anyone in a similar situation. The Terms state:
"This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by the Operator or third parties, and all rights, titles, and interests in and to such property will remain (as between the parties) solely with the Operator."
But they don’t specify what qualifies as their intellectual property. If I’m putting my work into their system, it shouldn’t automatically become theirs just because I used their site to enhance it. That work is still mine, yet their terms don’t make that clear.
Even though I only utilize this service for my pre-existing creations, I’d say Sudowrites' terms are even more concerning for those who don’t have their work ready beforehand. Why can’t a service provider just be straightforward and state that the works created belong to the user? Whether it’s something reworked with Sudowrites' assistance or something a customer pays for, it should rightfully belong to the person who invests all that time making the necessary adjustments. After all, that’s what they’re paying for. So, why not clarify this in your Terms and Conditions?
Sudowrites seems to monitor Trustpilot for feedback to improve, yet, as is often the case, it doesn’t respond to its users. This speaks volumes about a company that aims to establish trust and confidence with its clientele.

"Don’t Trust Sudowrite"
Sudowrite didn’t give me the referral commission I was owed. Honestly, it’s not worth spending your cash on this. I took down my review after they finally sent the commission payment.
